The price of bag of corn is now talking thing in Atebubu, Ejura and Amantin, the farmers around this areas are cry about the price and how the market is going.
In Ghana, Bono East Region is popularly known by producing many different crops such as Corn, Yam, Beans, Cassava etc. This region play major role in terms of agriculture in Ghana. The farmers in this region are doing great job by producing crops to sustain the economy. However this year the farmers are not certified with the market.
The farmers are complaining about the price of the crops and the market, because currently 1 sack corn is 350 cidies and Beans is 800 cidies, that makes the farmers loss because the amount of money they invest into the farming the current prices will make them loss. Last year one sack of corn price was in the range of 1000 to 1200 cidies and the business men was buying and the market was going well for the farmers.
This year everything change the price of the corn drops from the range of 1000 to 1200 cidies to range 350 to 400 cidies but still the business men are not buying it, that makes the farmers complains since last 3 months but nothing changed.
The price has reduced again now full bag of white corn 300 cidies and yellow corn is 400 cidies in Atebubu.

Now the biggest worries of the farmers are their crops are still there and now the season of farming is very close, in Ghana farmers depend mostly on rainfall for farming and now we are almost getting to raining season. This worry the the farmers around Bono East Region.
